Is there any link between GERD and asthma ???

I don't think so. My sons have asthma, but no GERDS.

I can't think of any correlation. One is the respitory tract, the other is the digestive tract. I don't have asthma, but I had a girlfriend that was. She said it would give her stomachaches, so you may have a point. I don't know what to tell you what to do about it. Sorry.
One of the symptoms of GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) is cough or wheezing. Asthma is aggravated by heart burn (reflux).

I don't know specifically about with asthma, but with other lung diseases, there seems to be a link. My daughter has an ILD and also has reflux, and so do many other ILD kids. I think maybe it has to do with how hard they have to work to breathe (don't quote me on that, I'm just a Mom, not an expert). Also, it is possible that your GERD may irritate your lungs making your wheezing worse. This is always a worry for us, that our daughter may aspirate when she refluxes making things even worse for her. At any rate, there are medications which can help, so the best thing to do is to check with a doctor.

Thanks for asking this question. I never thought of that link. I have both GERD and asthma with lots of coughing. Since I have the GERD under control, my asthma is better. I had been coughing for two years when my allergy specialist suggested treatment for GERD.
