What causes mucuous bowel movements related to GERD?

Urge to have bowel movement often results in only mucuous discharge some days followed by completely normal bowel movement. What causes this and what is solution?

Have you paid attention to what you have been eating? Does it change when you have this problem? I have a similar problem when I eat tomato products. If I eat them with certain other foods I have no problem but I have never determined what they are. I solved this problem with a probiotic that works great. The trick is finding a good one with enough cultures and a prebiotic. Good luck.
