Anyone out there have a non astmatic wheeze perhaps connected with GERD and worse lying down?

This can happen with GERD. The Lower esophageal sphincter (LES...this is the connection between the esophagus and your stomach) for whatever reason may not sufficiently close tightly enough to keep gastric juices from flowing into your esophagus. When this happens, and especially when lying down, these gastric juices can "reflux" and you may aspirate (breath them into your lungs), causing wheezing. If this is the case, you need to see your physician, soon. In the mean time stop smoking if you smoke, raise the head of your bed when you lay down. MOST importantly see your doctor! I have that but when i was really having a hard time with it as far as pain i went to the dr and found out I also had gall stones(not fun at all that was were most of my pain was coming from) and a hiatel hernia I had my gallbladder removed about 4 years ago and the symptoms subsided but now im starting to have those feelings again so its back to the Dr. and yes laying down was a *****.....I missed so much work at the time because of this problem I use to have to lay in a bathtub of warm water just to make them pain go away ...my Dr had no idea what the warm bath did for me but oh well ....go see someone have them do ultra sounds and not x-rays...my dr did x-rays at first saw nothing and told me I just had bad gass......for 3 months YEH RIGHT!!!

Oh hell yes! Only other symptoms besides yours was a "lump" in my throat. No heartburn. Went to a throat doctor where he found this out . Prescribed Nexium and told me to be patient as it will take time for the damage to heal
Could be something like a stomach infection, rare but does happen, Your stomach can make you really sick, it took several specialist to figure out this problem for me
