What to take when you have problems with your acid reflux and GERD and you are pregnant??? |
I suffer from bad stomach problems and ive been sick for the past 2 days what can I take... I am also 12 weeks pregnant so I cant take any of my medicationsss I've had problems with acid reflux/GERD for years and have been taking Nexium for it. Both times I've been pregnant I've taken Ranitidine, which I get by prescription from my OB/Gyn. It's safe to take during pregnancy. Until you can see your doctor and get a prescription, you can try Tums and avoid spicy/acidic foods. Good luck and congratulations!! The only thing that you can do is call your OBGYN and ask them. I would not take anything on here as sound medical advice. We are all just a bunch of lonely people looking for a way to pass the time. If it is gastroesophageal reflux disease, a few drugs that may be prescribed include famotidine, and nizatidine, and ranitidine. These are preganancy category "B", and your doctor can explain that to you better, but these are the only that I have heard of, I'm sure there may be others. Hope this helps.
