Burning in my throat...GERD? |
I'm 28wks and I'm having BAD burning in my throat. I know it's Gastroesophageal Reflux - GERD. I had it when I was pregnant with my 1yr old son. But I got it when I was late in my pregnancy(38wks) and it lasted until I had my son(40wks) so now that I have it kinda early. I want to make it stop. I was never able to ask opinions on how to make it stop before only with my Dr. which didnt help much. Sooo, Can anyone help me with this?? my co-worker is prego.... she eats a TUMS right before she eats and it prevents heartburn.... heartburn is kind of something that needs to be treated before hand to have a better treatment outcome. i would be weary of taking anything other than TUMS since you are prego. good luck! ah heart burn, i have had it since i was about 24 weeks pregnant. try drinking milk or having milk products that are cold, ice-cream, yogurt etc, it helps allot with me (trust me its going to get a hell of allot worse) and or you can have mylanta (check with the doctor which one is suitable for you) 30 weeks pregnant ice cream always worked for me it doesn't last for long but it helps. the only thing i can sudgest is trying anti acids as they can give you some relief watch what you eat as fatty food can start it off even drinking tea and coffe can be bad try and sleep propped up with a pillow so it doesnt wake you up in the night other than that there isnt much you can do ask your doctor to prescribe lansoprazole 30mg gastro resistant tablets and after a week or less it will be gone Gaviscon after meals and directly before bedtime is perfectly safe for use in pregnancy. Also, sipping hot water and milky drinks can be effective. Peppermint too. Sleep propped up if you can and avoid carbs and sugars where possible. |
