If you had a newborn infant would you want it tested for genetic disorders? |
give me your opinion! You could, but then what? Worry? Have an abortion? I have a 7 month old and there's no way i would have tested. I love him and wouldn't change a thing about him even if he did have a disorder... No! Why? I would most definitely have them tested as soon as the doctors would agree to it BUT only because I have four genetic blood clotting disorders and it would be extremely important to know if the child was at risk. I have: ^^ you can have tests done no matter what age.. their just testing their DNA... u could be 50 n get a test done... Well I know after they are born the hospital usually does a blood test where they take a bit of blood from their heel and that tests for all kinds of things. I had an amnio done before the baby was born to test for genetic disorders. I would assume that if there was a problem with your child your dr. would recommend testing and I guess if my dr. would recommend it I would probably have it done? The baby could need medication? sheesh!! These people are weird. of COURSE you should have them tested.. Some conditions need treatment! What kind of mother wouldn't test their child! |
