Do you have links to sources for newborn genetic/metabolic testing?

As many of you know, they do a heelstick on newborns to put drops of blood on 5 cards which are evaluated for a number of genetic and metabolic abnormalities. My friend wants to refuse the state's test and have it done at a private lab (privacy issues). I no longer have my links of labs that do this. Does anybody know of some?

In my State, parents can request that the blood test and results be destroyed after testing. In her state, that is not the case. Most states keep the blood test on file in storage for future testing, which is what she objects to. She was one of those folks who advocated keeping your Social Security number secret to prevent ID theft years ago (and lots of people thought she was nuts).

This is the only list I know of:

Baylor was the cheapest ;-)

Hello::

I was just wondering if that is even possiable? I thought it was not allowed to get it done privately??

Here is information on it, maybe this might lead to private labs::
