What is the scientific procedure involved in Genetic testing?

I'm working on a paper and I need to find a web site that explains the steps a scientist would go through while performing a DNA test.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

1. Collect a sample (scrape skin cells by a cheek swab, spit into the tube, get a hair sample, blood, amniotic fluid, dried stains on clothing, dried saliva from cans, razor shavings, or something else)

2. Purify DNA - many protocols exist with different extraction chemistry and platforms, depending on your sample and next steps

3. Test your sample to determine quality and quantity. If sufficient, proceed with one of the following: RFLP testing, RFLP-PCR, multiplex PCR, SNP genotyping assays (TaqMan, Affymetrix GeneChip, ParAllele, Illumina GoldenGate and Infinium BeadChip, Sequenom MassArray, etc), sequencing protocol (Big dye, BAC end. MAB-seq, 454鈥檚 paired-end pyrosequencing, Agencourt SOLiD, Solexa reverse-nucleotide, Qiagen Pyrosequencing, Helicos tSMS, etc)

4. Interpret the data

You can use one's haplotypes and find a connection. That would tell you a recent part of your ancestry but it wouldn't be as simple as saying hes white.
