Would you have genetic testing done? Why or why not? yeah,if it could help me prevent or treat cancer faster Only if you want to become pregnant and the doc thinks you may be prone to an anomaly No, because it's all a crap shoot anyway. Not that I beleive it's a sin or anything, I think it would take the fun out of life. Plus I think there is a danger there of insurance companies using it to refuse coverage to people. That all depends on what the test is for. If it's a test to identify a condition that could be treated more effectively the earlier it's caught, then yes, I'd want to know so I can have it treated. If it's something that there is no cure or treatment for, then no; the test does me no good, except to make me worry about what might happen. If it's a test for physical characteristics in gametes or unborn children, like eye or hair color, then absolutely not; that's too close to "designer babies" for my taste.
