I think my boyfriend might have given me genital herpes?

Okay, so I have only been with one other guy that isn't my boyfriend, but we used a condom and this was years ago. But yesterday I painfully noticed that I had a red bump down there.. and it really hurts. I looked up genital herpes on google images and it doesn't look like the pictures because there is only one bump. I'm kind of scared of getting tested... but I am going next week. Is there like any slim chance that it's not genital herpes? Or what else could it be?

I get those and I've been tested several times - they told me it's just like an acne bump and it's not herpes. They said they come around your period most often. They hurt until I (ok, this is gross) pop them like a zit.
You have to get tested to know for sure. They can do a blood test, but if you've ever had cold sores, the blood test won't tell anything, then they can only test WHEN YOU HAVE ONE. So, good luck, I was really worried, but mine aren't, so maybe yours aren't either.

Not to be really forward on this subject but if you shave down there it could just be irratation. I get that sometimes. But either way, the best thing is to get tested because if it is not caught early you could be HPV!

Sounds like you have a sexually transmitted disease. You should go to your family doctor asap so he can set up an appointment with a specialist to determine what kind of medical problem you do have.

it could just be a big pimple. it happens sometimes down there.

maybe it's an ingrown hair
