Is genital Herpes a serious Disease?

If you and your boyfriend both have genital herpes is it ok to keep having unprotected sex, or can it cause a more serious STD

Persons with herpes should abstain from sexual activity with uninfected partners when lesions or other symptoms of herpes are present. It is important to know that even if a person does not have any symptoms he or she can still infect sex partners. so its best to be protected

Sex partners of infected persons should be advised that they may become infected and they should use condoms to reduce the risk. . and yes any sexual disease is serious

If both of you have it, then you are fine to have sex. It will not cause any other disease... but be advised that during an out break there is always a chance that one of the sores could get infected. Having sexual contact with someone may increase the risk of infection, which can be dangerous. With that, most people find that having sex while having an outbreak is painful. The best thing to do during an outbreak is to abstain. You also have to be careful about pregnancy. During birth, herpes can be transmitted to the babies eyes and cause serious damage including blindess. If you do happen to get pregnant, you definately need to notify you doc that you have herpes right away.
