How long should you date someone before telling them you have genital herpes? I know before you have sex but.. |
I just started seeing this guy this week and I'm not ready to tell him I have herpes. I will definitely tell him before we have sex, but considering it's only been a week, I believe it's too soon. I live in a town where somewhere down the line, everybody knows everybody and I don't want my business out there. My friends don't even know. I want to thank some of the people who responded so far for the support and understanding how hard it is to break this kind of news to people and that it's not always best to tell these things right away when it may not even be necessary. I like your last paragraph - just stick with that. When ever your ready to have sex and you feel comfortable to tell him anything and everything that you want him to know. Ask him if he can keep a big secret for a long time. Then tell him. Make sure that he does not tell your friends about your personal business. Good luck! I would wait until things get more serious and you believe you could see yourself with this guy. Until you feel comfortable talking about this type stuff then you shouldn't even consider having sex with him ASAP!!!!! same as urs best thing to do is screw first and post it later.... |
