What is the incidence of genital herpes in the UK?

I gather that in the USA it is 25% for women and 20% for men.

About half that in the US - however genital hsv-1 is much more common than genital hsv-2 - unsurprising given that 80% of UK adults have cold sores - oral hsv-1 on their mouths.

I live in the UK and I know quite a few girls with genital herpes, but none of us have hsv-2. We all have hsv-1, the oral kind, which we caught on our genitals through receiving oral sex. In the UK, over 72% of new genital herpes infections are actually caused by hsv-1 the so-called oral herpes virus.
