Do genital herpes get on the head of the penis? |
I have not had sex with anyone but my wife for over 30 yrs., but recently some little blister-like sores have appeared on the one side of the head of my penis. I landscape and am a diabetic, so I have to urinate often. Recently I used a gatorade bottle two times, and in between one of my workers used a bottle also. I assumed he did not use my bottle, and I don't know if he has any disease or not. These little pustules came up the same day which seems awfully quick, but I am very worried. I sweat a lot, and I wonder if it could be something like poison ivy. It stings when I put antiviral medicine and the surface turns white. I am circumcised, but there seems to be a lot of moisture in the area. What could this be? sounds like herpes...you need to go to the dr before you pass them on to your wife Yes you can get herpes on your head, it can look like small irritation/rash or can be an entire blister. My advice to you is to clean it with rubbing alcohol and or hyrdorgen peroxide, it will go away very qucikly if you do this, antivirals will take longer and they will contribute to an even bigger outbreak the next time, trsut me, h202 and simple rubbing alcohol work the best. Oh btw, yeah it sounds like herpes, try and keep your head dry, it will help to eliminate the infection. It doesn't sound like herpes because the pustules are very painful. This could be anything from herpes to an allergic reaction. Go to a Dr asap and get tested. You really need to see a doctor to get a definitive diagnosis, but this doesn't sound like herpes to me. Not because of the location (because you can get herpes on the head of your penis) but because herpes tends to hurt a LOT, and your symptoms came up too soon to have caught it from your coworker. Also, that would be a very very unusual way to catch herpes, since the virus dies very quickly away from the human body. (He would need to have taken a swig from that bottle JUST before you used it.) |

Never heard of it but most things don't work. Taking care of your body through diet and exercise are the best ways to avoid outbreaks. ...That does not sound like herpes. HSV outbreaks last from 3 days to 2 weeks. Not 6 months. Find a free clinic in your area and go have it looked at. Try Planned Parent Hood. Or Birthright. Dont know... I agree it doesn't sound like herpes but your best bet is to go to the MD to get checked out. There is doctor/patient confidentiality so they can't reveal what happened during your appt. ... |
