PEOPLE with GENITAL HERPES HELP!?

I have genital herpes..do most of your breakouts occur in the same places? are they usually the same? my first outbreak hasnt been that bad. Can i assume that the next ones i have wont be so bad as well? HELP!

Usually out breaks are in the same spot, because herpes will follow the path of least resistance (sorta like electricity) but that doesn't mean that your O.B. will ALWAYS be on the same spot.

In some cases, if you have a really bad outbreak and it causes scaring on the area, your next outbreak will be on a different spot, because the scar tissue makes it harder for an O.B. to occur on that area.. Also, if you have a sore spot around your original O.B. area (rubbed raw, shaving with a dull razor, to much sex, etc.) then the virus is more than likely to choose that spot for an O.B., because it would be the path of least resistance, due to the fact that it is already raw.

My 1st O.B. wasn't that bad either, it was my 2nd, 4th, and 5th that seemed to be the worst. Herpes is different for everyone and there is no set rule on what you can expect.

The 4 big factors that have a play in how bad your O.B's are would be your stress level (PMS), immune system, the foods you eat (see the link below) and what type of meds you take for herpes. Some say that type 1 genitally is better than type 2 genitally, because it is not the preferred area for type 1, but I strongly disagree. I have type 1, my boyfriend has type 2 (neither of us are on meds for it) and we can both honestly say that my O.B. are worse and more frequent than his. (Other people with H, that I know, agree too) My immune system is stronger than his also, I haven't had a cold for 2 yrs, he has had at least 4 in the past year....?.... That just goes to show that there are no rules for the herpes virus, it just depends on the individual.

Good Luck!
Vicki

Sometimes I have a slightly worse outbreak - but I haven't had one of those since the first year I had it. They are usually extremely mild - I have to look for them because otherwise I wouldn't notice them. That is actually pretty typical, since 80% of people with herpes either get no symptoms or have syuch mild ones they don't even notice they have it!

It is a nice myth used in sex ed to promote safe sex that herpes is a terrible thing and is always severe, but it isn't true at all. If you think about cold sores - which are oral herpes, every now and then you see someone that gets them badly, but most people get infrequent mild cold sores - and the same is true of genital herpes.

As for them occuring in the same place, for some people they always do. Mine often occur in the same place, but sometimes they decide to vary it a bit by moving around!

I normally get them near the front, but I have had ones near the back too, even one anal one soon after my primary (ouch) and they occur on both left and right. My symptoms varied the first year too - at first I always got 'cuts', but now I get a tiny cluster of blisters - sometimes the blisters don't even develop. I normally just get one tiny cluster, but once I had two in different places. It has definitely got milder over the years - at first I used to feel ill too, and occasionally ran a temperature, but now it is just like having a spot.

Herpes varies from person to person. Typically, the first outbreaks are the worst. If this is your first and it's not that bad more than likely they won't be worse than this. It may also depend if you have HSV1 genitally or HSV2. If you have HSV1 genitally the outbreaks are supposed to be less severe and less frequent.

My outbreaks typically are in the same area...in the past few years they have found some new locations.

Most people get outbreaks in relatively same places and they usually become less frequent over time. Stress and weakened immune system can increase the likelihood of an outbreak. So, now you have a medical excuse to relax and get healthy!

Well, it depend of your immune system...I take valtrex and lisenin...something like that go to the vitamin store and tell them u want vitamins agains herpes...I don't have an out brake for one year already.
Don't freak out...u are still the same person.

theres the bad ones. and the worse ones. and the not so bad ones.
The outbreaks occur all over.
Get on meds it'll help
