Genital herpes??

I'm a female. I'm a virgin who has never even had oral sex or been touched. But for the last fews months, every few weeks I have these sores that look like blisters, but really hurt and are itchy. They only last for a few days. Could it be possible that I have genital herpes? Or could it be something completly different? Please help.

It could be one of many things.

Have you changed maxi pads or have the pads that you have been using changed the adhesive in them? (I know that Always recently changed their adhesive.)

Have you changed laundry detergent recently?

Did you start using any kind of powder down there?

It could be that you are just having an allergic reaction...contact dermatitis.

Adhesives in pads, baking soda in pads, residue of laundry detergent, deodorant in pads, etc can cause these type of symptoms that you are describing.

I wouldn't think yeast infection or any other type of infection since you state that it only lasts a few days and infections such as a that usually don't go away on their own. This is why I am thinking that the culprit may be your maxi pads.

It is however, possible that if you had a cold sore on your mouth that you had touched with your hand or a towel, and then that came in contact with your genitals, you could spread the oral herpes virus to your genitals. Whenever you have an outbreak on your mouth, you should make sure that you wash your hands well after touching it and use a different towel for drying off your face than the rest of your body. This scenario is unlikely, but theoretically possible.
