Just found out i have genital herpes...have some questions..? |
i read that a strong immune system is important in helping to prevent outbreaks...im on valtrex but would taking other vitamins help too? If so, what? A multivitamin and vitamin c would be my guess from what i read, is that right? Also, i smoke..if i quit, would that help as well? Also, are there any food/drinks i should avoid? i forgot one thing..i go tanning, i read sunlight can trigger an outbreak...if i wore underwear in the bed, would that be enough to protect the area from the light? I have genital hsv-1 and I still tan and have not had a problem as far as another outbreak. You also have to remember that stress can bring one on also. I just don't believe that you should give up everything for that reason. As time passes, you will get fewer and fewer outbreaks. take the amino acid l-lysine. try to have a diet high in l-lysine and low on the amino acid arginine. l-lysine appears to reduce the severity and frequency of herpes. l-lysine should be taken on an empty stomach, so arginine doesnt interfere with the effects of l-lysine. I would say take Vitamin C. Stop smoking because it will help you be more healthy in general. I'm not sure about the food. Tanning I think would be ok if you wear bottoms. I have the oral herpes and I always use chapstick with sunblock, because the sun does make my lip breakout yep, quite smoking...it'll help your immune system. Stress of any kind can cause an outbreak, sunlight (UV tanning) can too as well as other triggers that may or may not affect you. Vitamins Yes Yes Yes. They Help. |
