Genital herpes.. side effects?again..?

i performed oral sex on amale.. i got genital herpes bc i didnt know he had it n he didnt know.. i got sick around the same time with a sore throat n my lymph node in my neck was swollen n still is after 2 months. could it be from the herpes?? ive already been tested formono

first! i didnt kno n he didnt know bc he didnt have sores or anything it just was livng on his skin or whatever he didnt have signs... 2! ive been to the doctor ive taken medicine n im going to a throat doctor tomorrow

I'm confused. "Genital herpes" is herpes lesions on your genitals. And you can't get herpes on your genitals from giving oral sex - since your genitals weren't involved. You can get the HSV2 virus on your mouth - which would be oral herpes. Or you can get genital herpes (which can be caused by either HSV1 or HSV2) on your genitals from recieving oral sex or having vaginal sex.

Whereever you have your herpes, however, it should NOT be causing your lymph nodes to be swollen after two months. After initial exposure, you can expect flu-like symptoms (fever, etc) as your body first attacks the virus. But after two months, those symptoms should be long gone.

I would go to see a doctor about those swollen lymph nodes. That doesn't sound good - and it doesn't sound like herpes.
