Anyone with a history of genital herpes (type 2) given vaginal birth and baby was asymptomatic?

Hi would like to know how your delivery was vaginally having a history of herpes. Im on suppression therapy for the last 3 weeks and nowim going on 38 weeks. Ive had no active breakouts excpet one small one during my entire 9 months but ive had quite a few prodromes. The last prodrome i had was probably a week ago but went away within a couple of days. I cant shave down there b/c this seems to set it off for some reason. It never did before. According to ACOG, women can now deliver vaginally during labour if there are no active lesions or prodromes at labour. I know the risks are 2/10,000 births which is low. Im also considering a c-sectin next wednesday just in casei have a breakout but i truly feel vaginal will be the way. I had my first vaginally but ididnt have the virus and recovered so fast. I know with csections its much harder afterwards. Please share with me your experiences vaginally and how the baby was afterwards. thanks.

My friend from work has herpes, given to her by her cheating partner when she was pregnant the first time.
She has since had two vaginal deliveries with no problems to either baby...both very healthy little girls now
If you had herpes before you got pregnant, the risk of transmitting the virus is fairly low as the antibodies in your blood will actually give your baby some protection.
As far as I am aware, you would only need a C-section if you were experiencing an outbreak at the time of labour. Otherwise, I don't see why you couldn't deliver vaginally.
