Do men show symptoms of Genital Herpes?

Both Men and Women - may or may not show symptoms of Genital Herpes.

This is one of the main reasons as to why genital Herpes has spread rapidly over the last couple of years.

Many people who have herpes actually are unaware that they have it!!! (This is because the show no symptoms) This is for both men and women.

If someone does not show any symptoms, the only way to know for sure if you or a partner has herpes is to get a blood test. This blood test will only tell you if you have a HSV1 (oral herpes) or HSV2 (genital herpes).

Now for the confusing part - A blood test can not tell you exactly where you have the herpes virus. HSV1 is primarly oral, but can actually also be on your genitals. Same goes with HSV2, it is primarily genital, but can actually also be on your mouth.

Last but not least... someone who has had the virus for many many years, and has had no "outbreaks" (symptoms), can suddenly develop a outbreak years and years later.

infact.. herpes is sooo popular..many people dont even realize they have it.. some get outbreaks badly and others get outbreak once and never again..and others get a few symptoms but mistaken it for something else..

i have hsv 1 and havent got a cold sore in 11 years... but didnt know that i had "herpes".. i thought i had "cold sores" and didnt even know it was the same thing! and i did not know i was putting my 3 past/ex boyfriends at risk of genital herpes thru oral sex!! i just informed my bf today of a year that i juss found out i have hsv 1 and hes negative for it.. and im concerned .. and also on top of that.. i may had contracted genital herpes from a rape about a few months ago .which im goin to test for it in 2 days.. im not tryin to put my bf at risk !! but hes pleased that i am honest and that i care to protect myself and him.. and thats why hes stayin with me throughout !! we are in our 20s.. thats a huge deal considering i didnt think iill be able to date again with hsv 1 cold sores!

After the warning signs pass, sores may develop. Sores generally develop in stages:

Small red areas appear and may be sensitive, itchy, or painful.

These areas may swell slightly.

Next, small blisters filled with fluid form in the same area as the rash.

The blisters can open up and form open sores, which may be quite painful.

As the sores start to heal, they crust over. New skin grows beneath the scab.

When the crust falls off, the sore is healed.

Yup..
Although, it's VERY important to note, you can catch Herpes even if your partner is not having an active outbreak.
AND, the herpes virus is so small that a condom may not protect you.
