If you have genital herpes can you?

If I have genital herpes and my bf preforms oral sex ( no out break) and then we kiss can we get oral herpes?

Im constantly amazed.. in fact Harle is the most wrong out of all of them. HSV 1 and HSV2 can infect both orally and genitally they just have a higher prevalence in one area. So your BF can certainly get oral herpes from your genital herpes even when no outbreak as viral shedding occurs all the time just more in outbreak periods. SO dental dams etc are recommended. They only other way to minimise spread (not eliminate) is with viral suppressive therapy like famvir.

If you have genital herpes, it is possible for your bf to get herpes on his mouth by performing oral sex on you. (Or, if one of you has oral herpes, you could spread it to the other person's genitals by oral sex.) Herpes can be transmitted even if there is no outbreak, but risk of transmission is much higher if there is an outbreak.

both of the other answers uve had are wrong, you cannot pass genital herpes into the oral form. Although they are both the herpes virus they are completely different strains and cannot turn from one form to the other.
So your boyfriend can put his face down there all he wants, he wont get oral herpes...i just cant imagine it being very nice with the warts down there. Go to your local GUM clinic or doctors and get some cream, they will be gone in a week or so with treatment.

since genital herpes is very contagious i would think that you can definitely get it orally
