Genital Herpes and the outbreaks? |
I have Genital Herpes. I was raped when I was 14, almost 15 by my "boyfriend" at the time. He took advantage of me but anyway, he gave me genital herpes according to my doctor. I am 22 now and have not had an outbreak since I got it when I was 14....15...... is this common? 1 of 5 Americans have herpes so I was wondering how often do other people break out? It's not uncommon but it does happen to some people. There is nothing to say or tell how often one will get an out break of herpes. Every one is different when it comes to break outs. Some people only have one out break and never have one again while others have out breaks every couple of weeks or months. Some people can go for months or years in between out breaks. I heard that a lucky one third of the infected population gets one initial outbreak, and that's it. Another third gets outbreaks initially, but they decrease over time. Another unlucky third continue to get frequent outbreaks for the rest of their lives. I fell into the latter category, but now that I'm on an anti-viral, I get very few outbreaks. It depends on the stress you are under. Some people break out once a month and some never do. See your doctor for more information and a check up. If it's been that long since you've had an outbreak count your blessings and worry no more about it. |

Certain things can trigger out breaks, they may have only one or two out br... maybe she's just not educated on how the virus is passed along and needs to be shown... it's too bad that she's gonna learn too late before passing it on to you... hopefully you can ... maybe you have warts too no because ur period has nothing to do with std's or triggering them ...it sounds like you have an area that's infected. I'd try putting antibiotic cream on it tonight and see if it looks better in the morning. If it looks worse, hurts, or spreads-Go to the... If white pus came out of it, then it could have been a clogged oil gland. If clear liquid came out of it, it could be herpes if she has been sexually active. It all depends on the appearance and ... I would. I'm disease-free. Herpes is so well-controlled with proper treatment and precautions that's the Herpes-neg partner has a very good chance of remaining Herpes-neg for years, or ev...
