It is unlikely, but yes it is possible. If you touched the "cold sore" and then rapidly touched your genitals when you were masturbating (using saliva for lube), it is possible (because all the conditions for transmission are there, including moisture and time). Touching your mouth and then later touching your genitals won't cause transmission.

It's possible its called auto transmission but doesn't commonly happen. Herpes can be transmitted that way if you touch a cold sore or oral herpes and immediately after touch or rub your genitals. If you hesitated then you may not have transmitted any thing because herpes doesn't live long away from the body or on objects for more then seconds.

this is not really possible b/c it must be SKIN TO SKIN contact WITH FRICTION on MOIST areas (nose, eyes, mouth and genitals).

fingers are not moist areas and the virus will usually die before your fingers get to another part of your skin... and even if the virus lives, you would have have to cause some sort of friction.

you can transmit type I (mouth) to type II (genitals) and vice versa, but from my understanding, it has to involve actual oral sex.

Genital herpes are sexually transmitted it is a std it is not the same thing as the type you would get on your mouth
