Genital herpes and oral?

my boyfriend and I both have herpes. We know not to have sex when either of us have an outbreak, but when neither of us have outbreaks is it safe to give oral without the other person getting oral herpes?

If you and your partner have the same virus you will not reinfect each other - even on a different part of the body. So, if you have caught it on your genital from your partner鈥檚 facial cold sores, he or she will not catch the virus back on the genitals.
If the new partner has had facial cold sores in the past and they will either have the same virus as you and be unable to catch it from you, or will have the other type (there are only two types of herpes simplex). If they have the other type and then catch you type, their symptoms will probably be slight or non-existent. This is because the antibodies they already have for 'their type' will immediately start fighting this slightly different virus while it prepares new antibodies to fight it properly. It is called having 'patrial protection'. This gives them an advantage over people who have no herpes simplex antibodies of either type. An antibody (blood test) might show that this is the case.

The odds are pretty low to transmit the virus when there are no visible signs, but it's still possible due to viral shedding. You will never know when viral shedding is happening. Also, if you have HSV2 it is even more unlikely to spread to the mouth (but still possible). HSV2 likes the genitals and HSV1 likes the mouth - generally speaking. Unfortunately, with Herpes, there are no definite answers!

No one is 100% safe if the other partner has herpes. Odds are in your favor though and supposedly already having HSV2 gives you some immunity from getting it orally. In fact, most studies I have read said getting HSV2-orally is extremely rare.

The odds of transmitting HSV-2 ( generally this is the "genital Herpes" strain) to mouth when there is no outbreak are low but not zero due to possible "viral shedding", before an outbreak occurs.

about it you can find information from the following website

deff not.
that can make it even worsee.
if your giving oral to someone who has herpes
you can get herpes n your mouth and it doesnt matter whether you acn breakouts or not at the timee.
its still dangerous

if you both have it already then do whatever you want, not like your gonna catch it! really

i think so.
