Can a person have something called stress herpes without having the STD Genital herpes?

my niece says she has been to the doctor and has "stress herpes" and is being treated but that this is not related to the STD Genital Herpes although all of her symptoms are the same as genital herpes is that possible?

People call herpes all kind of things I have seen them called "stress blisters" on here. People like to make herpes sound nicer then then the gross disease that most people think it is. If she knows it's an std then let her call them what ever she wants, if it makes her feel better about having them. If she is in complete denial then that is a different thing and you may want to let her know that it's an std when it's on her genitals.
Stress usually is what triggers an out break of herpes. It can also be triggered by illness, prolonged exposure to sunlight or being out in the cold for too long.
If they are herpes on the mouth they can be transmitted with out ever having sex, in fact they are easily transmitted by kissing some one on the mouth who has cold sores.
If they are genital herpes on the genitals then it's an std. There are not too many other ways to pass on herpes other then by having skin to skin contact like her being given oral sex by some one that gets cold sores, or having regular sex with some one that has genital herpes. Kids are experimenting with sex at very early ages these days.

Genital herpes are herpes the doctor is softening the blow which is silly...mind you she could of just told you that as there is such a stigma with genital herpes she needs to know all she can on the disease the link will tell her/you all about it.

OMG, all herpes is stress herpes...with herpes I and II it breaks out usally when your body or mind is stressed, thats what that means...Wow you need to let her know, she is clueless!
And she can give it to people when she has sex or oral even if she is not broke out!
