Genital herpes and baby? |
Can the genital herpes virus be passed onto a new born baby by its mother through breast feeding? No you cannot pass genital herpes through breastfeeding. And as far as passing it on to the baby during birth, you would have to have an outbreak for that to happen and even then if your doctor had a brain, he'd perform a c-section to avoid any problems with this because it could actually affect the babies eyes. i highly doubt it. i have never heard of the nipples referred to as 'mucous membranes' and i am pretty sure that's the only places you can reallly have or pass on herpes. i do know that you can pass it on through the birth process though. |
