Genital Herpes...What are the symptoms and how do i get help? |
I think i have it. I have thick white discharge, a weird smell...like anitbiotics, but there is only 1 bump looking thingy around the opening of my vagina. Is that enough? i probed the inside and i have felt nothing out of the norm...should i go to the ob/gyn? im scared...and yes i am young(16). Sounds like a yeast infection, not genital herpes. Genital herpes doesn't have a smell or thick white discharge. The most obvious sign of genital herpes are large blister like sores that can break open and puss. Antibiotics are often the cause of yeast infections. Have you taken any antibiotics recently? A few years ago I got a horrible yeast infection because I was receiving antibiotics through an IV when I was hospitalized. Symptoms of a primary (first) outbreak of genital herpes can include: + Flulike symptoms, such as fever, headache, and muscle aches. These symptoms usually get better within a week. Tingling, burning, itching, and redness at the site where an outbreak is about to occur (prodrome). + Painful, itchy blisters on the penis, on the vulva, or inside the vagina. Blisters may also appear on the anus, buttocks, thighs, or scrotum, either alone or in clusters. They may be barely noticeable or as large as a coin. + Blisters that break and become shallow, painful, oozing sores. + Swollen and tender lymph nodes in the groin. + Painful urination. I'd highly suggest you see a doctor. If it is a yeast infection they can give you a prescription for some anti fungal medication like fluconazole (brand name: Diflucan). Good luck! Source(s): Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for 6+ years. Actually, it could be gonorrhea. Which is curable. And DO get it checked out. Never let things like that go. might also just be a yeast infection.
