Can Genital herpes infected by blood to blood contact or with the contact of other body fluids?

Can genital herpes virus be transmitted by blood or other body fluids of an infected person? What will happen to a herpes infected person in the long run?

Herpes simplex virus 2 (genital herpes) is NOT in a persons blood. It is only transmitted by sex (vaginal, anal, or oral) and by direct skin to skin contact with the area (like "dry humping"). There are others ways of contracting it like childbirth, but this is really rare.

If herpes were in the blood I REALLY doubt the American Red Cross would allow someone with herpes to donate blood, like they do people with HIV/AIDS. According to the American Red Cross, "Chlamydia, venereal warts (human papilloma virus), or genital herpes are not a cause for deferral if you are feeling healthy and well and meet all other eligibility requirements."

As for what happens to a person with genital herpes in the long run - absolutely nothing. Genital herpes does NOT cause sterility or any real health issues. I mean, yeah the sores can be VERY painful, especially during the first outbreak, but that's about the only thing herpes does. It's not deadly like HIV/AIDS or untreated syphilis. It won't cause a person to become infertile or sterile like untreated syphilis, gonorrhea, or chlamydia can do. It doesn't cause cancer like HPV can. HPV can cause cervical cancer in women, which is the second most common cancer in women.

I have had both genital herpes and HPV for over 5 years now. I developed cervical cancer when I was 17 years old from HPV! It was one of the most emotional and physical pains I have EVER had. Honestly, I think genital herpes is one of the better STDs out there (if a person had to have one of course!). I NEVER think about having herpes. I live a great, healthy life with my fiance and I couldn't be happier. Source(s): Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

I asked my doctor's nurse that same question and she said that the herpes virus can be transmitted by blood. I didn't ask her about other bodily fluids. You still should talk to your own doctor to find out. I know I am worried about the same thing. The herpes virus is with you for life once you get it. There is no known cure at this time. There are medications that can help with outbreaks to make them shorter and that can help relieve some of the symptoms that come with having an outbreak but nothing can cure the virus itself. I hope this has given you some idea about herpes. For more info talk to your doctor and go on the web. There are alot of good websites.
Herpes is mostly a sexually transmitted disease (STD). HHV is the acronym for the Human Herpes Viruses which as the name suggests are viruses responsible for producing herpes in humans. These viruses (HHV) are of eight types. HHV are causative agents for cold sores, blindness, cancers, and life-threatening conditions in immuno-suppressed individuals.

An infection of herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV2) can lead to genital herpes, a sexually transmitted disease that causes blisters and pain in the genital area. Herpes simplex virus type 2 can be passed in the urine or genital discharge of an infected person.Genital Herpes can infect anyone who has sex, even if only once.
Cold sores or fever blisters are also caused by one of the herpes simplex viruses, usually type 1 (known as HSV-1). However, that virus can also cause genital herpes.
