Can genital herpes be spread through clothing like bathing suits or bottoms? |
Can genital herpes be spread through clothing like bathing suits or bottoms? you have some really bad answers here........my good friend has had the herpes virus for many years, he's a guy that got it from an unfaithful wife, but anyway, Herpes is a VIRUS that is ONLY TRANSMITTED through sexual contact.you cannot get it from slight physical contact where do these people get their info??? talk to a doc or go to drugstore.com and they have a forum that will answer your questions fully. if u r having an outbreak, yes, if no outbreak, then no. No its not likely. The virus dies pretty quick once it leaves the body, but sharing bottoms isn't a good idea unless they have been washed first. yes it sure can. you should see a doctor if you wore anything from someone with the Herpes. wash those clothese then put them in a dryer and dry them hot for some time before wearing them again The herpes virus is most often transmitted between partners during oral, anal, or vaginal sex. Any person who is sexually active can become infected with the herpes virus; engaging in unprotected sex significantly increases this risk. Genital herpes can be transmitted through contact between the infected area and a partner's mucous membrane, primarily the mouth or genitals. There have been no medical studies regarding sharing of garments. Spread in this fashion however is highly unlikely. -random physician yeah.. as long as the virus touches an open part of another. While anyone can be infected by herpes virus, not everyone will show symptoms. Risk factors for genital herpes include: early age at first sexual activity, multiple sexual partners, and a medical history of other sexually transmitted diseases. Most patients with genital herpes experience a prodrome (symptoms of oncoming disease) of pain, burning, itching, or tingling at the site where blisters will form. This prodrome stage may last anywhere from a few hours, to one to two days. The herpes infection prodrome can occur for both the primary infection and recurrent infections. The prodrome for recurrent infections may be severe and cause a severe burning or stabbing pain in the genital area, legs, or buttocks. |
