Do genital herpes always hurt?

j/w...i have been tested and Im ok i am just curious if they always hurt and/or itch?

Yes, they are almost always painful.

I have had about 4 or 5 outbreaks in the last 6 years and they have ALL been painful, especially the first outbreak. Source(s): Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for 6 years.
I don't think so as many people show no symptoms and others have few outbreaks of 1 or 2 sores only.
Yes, they itch and are very uncomfortable. I know because I have them.
Every person that I have ever known that has had them says that they are extremely painful during an outbreak.
Genital itching can be a symptom of many conditions which may include vaginal infections in females or jock itch in males. In either sex, itching may be caused by skin irritation, sexually transmitted diseases and allergies.

In many cases, genital itching that is caused by irritation will clear up on its own if the irritation is removed. Other causes of itching may require more intensive treatment. If you are concerned about genital itching that does not go away, talk to your doctor or another health care professional.
hi. yes they hurt and itch. only when you have an outbreak. its not as if you walk around 24/7 hurting and itching. only when an outbreak occurs is when its uncomfortable
