I have genital herpes and just told me girlfirend.What should i expect?

i just told my girlfriend who i have known for 3 years and just got serious with over the past two months that i had herpes. I love and care for her vastly and want nothing more than a chance.I have informed her on my willingness to exclude sex from our relationship until we build a better decsion making foundation which we could decide whether to continue our sex life or not.we have already have had sex but decided to stop once i told her.To add it was briliant and before i told her she said it was the best sex she has ever had and i beleived her knowing her for awhile.What should i expect to happen and did i do the right thing in telling her? i dont want her to leave me.

First of all, you should have told her right away. If you are having sex, then you should be able to talk about that before hand... this is NOT a "oh,yeah, kinda forgot to mention" thing. This is an up front,educate yourself and make a decision before hand kind of thing. I am sure she is ready to pinch your head off for not telling her sooner.
Anyway, I think your next step would be to go to the doctor's and get all the information about herpes, prevention and treatment and then have a good talk with the doctor. You may have given it to her allready you might ask her to get tested. You will both be on medication the rest of your life.
You had a responsability to tell her in the first place, your lucky she didnt knock your block off, anyway, if she can deal with that she will, if she cant she wont.
You should have told her right away. But you probly havent gave it to her yet. give it 20 days and if she dont break out then shes probly good. Do u have alot of break out...if u dont then ur chances of spreading it is lower!
