Oral sex and genital herpes? |
hey guys, I recently had unprotected oral sex with my girlfriend, Im not sure if she has herpes, no sores on her lip or anything. But my main issue is Can i get genital herpes from oral sex or i can only get simplex 1? Im pretty tied up and scared right now please someone help me, what are my chances, more likely herpes 1 or herpes 2??? http://herpesrxfast.com/valtrex.php... .It was believed that HSV-1 mostly caused oral herpes (herpes labialis), while HSV-2 generally caused genital herpes that typically affects the penis, vulva, and rectum. This is not completely true. Both type 1 and type 2 can cause herpes lesions on the lips or genitals. I don't think you have anything to worry about.. You would get whatever she had.. Why the big worry? If you get it just take your meds! This person has egregiously given you bad information. You can get oral herpes from giving an infected person "oral sex". If she has type 1, you will get type 1. The types are mainly restricted to Type 1 being above belt and Type 2 below but they can both affect either area. So technically, it would be genital herpes but type 1. Type-1 genital infections will usually occur only once. They happen 10-15 times less than an HSV-2 genital infection. Sooo. Basicly on average you might get 1 more small sore in the next 15yrs. It's nothing to worry about. It's pretty rare becasue like 80% of people have HSV-1 antibodies in their system. Oral antibodies from type-1 will prevent infection of type-1 genital. Go get a blood test and a swab to be sure. That will put your mind at rest either way. I would first caution you to keep in mind that overall, many people post on sites like yahoo answers, and may or may not know the facts. Sex is basically a gamble; it is scary to note that 1/4 women have herpes. Genital herpes can occur from a HSV type 1 infection (which is less likely to appear in the genitals but can, however, approximately 70% of the population has HSV 1) or from an HSV type 2 infection. When a new partner learns of herpes for the first time, and has never been exposed to such an issue, it is common to be extremely scared--there is a social stigma about herpes that is negative. But keep in mind that if 70% of the population has HSV 1 and approximately 25% has HSV 2, you run a good risk to have already been exposed before, but never knew it if you are sexually active. Safe sex, with condoms is the best step you can take to protect yourself, so long as your partner is willing to say when an outbreak feels like it is coming. I have herpes, and my boyfriends have been comfortable with enjoying a sex life with me. For the men I have dated, this included condom use each time there was vaginal sex, I consistently mentioned any subtle feeling that could turn into an outbreak so we could avoid sexual contact during that time, and they also chose to have oral sex without protection (which is a personal choice). Like I mentioned above, sex is a gamble. People with genital herpes often struggle with the comfort to mention it, especially depending on the situation. if u have some.go to the doctor and see what it is.u can get herpes i or 2 if she has it. |
