Do people with genital herpes know when they are going to have an outbreak? |
Do people with genital herpes know when they are going to have an outbreak? About half of the people who have recurrent outbreaks of genital herpes feel an outbreak coming a few hours to a couple of days before it happens. They may feel tingling, burning, itching, numbness, tenderness, or pain where the blisters are going to appear. This is called the prodrome. I can feel when I am about to have an outbreak. I start taking my medicine as soon as I feel it coming on. Source(s): Personal experience. I have genital herpes. Yep - like Alli said, these are prodomes. I get a weird tingly feeling in my bum before I get an ob. Everyone's prodomes are a bit different. |
