Can you get genital herpes on your face? |
Can you get genital herpes on your face? Yes you can. It is possible to move the virus from the location of the outbreak to other places on the body by touching the sores. Type 1 and 2 can spread to other places on the body. The eyes, moouth, genitals, and nose are the most senitive places because they are mucus membranes. But you can also get it on your finger tips called HEPATIC WITLOW. Source(s): http://www.herpes.com/transmission.shtml... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/herpes... http://health.utah.gov/epi/fact_sheets/h... I have it. You can have herpes of the mouth, but it isn't *technically* the same virus as that of the genitals. "Herpes is a contagious infection that's caused by the herpes simplex virus. One type of the virus - herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV1) - can lead to cold sores around the mouth. An infection of herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV2) can lead to genital herpes, a sexually transmitted disease that causes blisters and pain in the genital area." http://kidshealth.org/parent/infections/... um yea, u can get it in the eyes (i belive) and the mouth you can get herpes on the face but it's not "genital" herpes. Cold sores are a different strain of herpes, so yes, you can get herpes on your face, though it wouldn't be genital herpes. |
