Cold Sore and genital herpes?

Hi, I have a cold sore on my lip, and I've had it for about a week now. It's pretty much healing, the blisters broke, the little scabs formed and now the scabs are dissapearing. not totally gone, but on its way there. now here's my problem. last night I touched my genitals. (only because i'm paranoid and I sometimes examine the area in the mirror for any abnormalities.) I've been washing my hands consistently for this past week, and have been careful never to directly touch the cold sore, I only use q-tips to apply creams. I didnt wash my hands right before doing it, but I think I had washed them like a half hour before. What do you think the chances are that I passed on the virus to my genital area, and will contract genital herpes? I also took a shower and washed the genital area right after that because I realized that I probably shouldnt have done that. I dont know why I did! I guess I just felt a slight itch, got paranoid and whipped out the mirror quickly to check it. help!

Since the sores are not draning any more there is no chance that you passed the virus on. Plus you have been washing your hands well. Stop worrying.

hmmmm, many answers but my guessing is either way maybe some cream would help

herpes from the wast up are completely different from herpes from the wast down
