If i have genital herpes on my mouth?

does that mean it will keep on reoccuring to my mouth? and spread to my genitals? which is the best way to tell the difference besides the area?

Both types of the virus can be transmitted through direct contact. A person can get the cold sores of HSV1 by kissing or sharing eating utensils with an infected person. A person can get genital herpes or HSV2 by having intimate contact with an infected person. There's no cure for herpes. In fact, once a person has been infected with the herpes virus, it's in the body forever. yes it can be spreaded if you touvh the cold sore then touch other parts of your body.
Sorry , but the only way to tell at this time in history is by taking a culture and examining it in a laboratory. And they are not going to want to do it because this information is of no use to you. In the old days there was litle oral sex and so the viruses, who are very like each other, stayed in their places......but no more. You have a herpes on your mouth. I does not have to spread to other areas unless you spread it with your hands to yourself..or you give it to the mouth of your lover ...who kisses you and contracts the disease and later kisses you lower down, which reinfects you. All herpes will reoccur in the site that is infected, especially when you are under any sort of stress that lowers the strength of your immune system. I think doctors have some meds that slow down the rate of occurence? Ice cubes help the pain. Sorry.
it will keep coming back but unless you blow yourself it wont spread down there.good luck

If they are on your mouth, they are considered cold sores, not genital herpes. Genital herpes usually occur in your genital area. It will not spread to your genital area.

Cold sores (herpes simplex virus 1) can be spread by just simply being kissed by someone who has the virus. You can even get it from sharing chap stick or lipstick with someone who has the virus. Cold sores can also cause genital herpes. In fact, 30% of people with genital herpes got it from cold sores.

Genital herpes (herpes simplex virus 2) is usually spread by sexual contact. You can get genital herpes from having sex with someone who has the virus and by skin to skin contact (like rubbing genital areas together). You can also get it from receiving oral sex from someone who has cold sores. And, if a person has genital herpes and someone gives them oral sex, it can cause the person giving to get cold sores, but this is pretty rare.
