If my girlfriend has a cold sore and she gives me oral sex, can I get genital herpes?

The HSV virus can be transmitted in this manner. It is not the same serotype as the common genital variety - but basically the same symptoms and disease course exist.

btw, genital herpes is usually type 2, while cold sores are type 1. nonetheless, you can get sores on either site, so they're misnomers.

yes, one of my classmates years ago had the same thing, depnds of the sore, and yuck why she blows you if she has one, it makes me vomit really, but the consecuences are worst for her than for u i believe, she has to do to the doctor asap, and you can have a regular check up for your calm. good luck i hope you are free of it
