When will a genital herpes vaccine be available to the public?

Because it is a series or viruses and they mutate so easily, some predict there will never be a vaccine that can totally protect the public. The coomon cold continues to stump us after all these years.

Same day they cure the common cold.
Not soon enough. I read that 80% of people who have herpes don't even know they are infected (frightening)
Vaccines against herpes have been produced but are still considered experimental drugs. Trials for these vaccines are designed to establish whether the vaccines will prevent outbreaks of genital herpes in people who have not experienced it previously. Conclusive results from trials are not yet available. Vaccines are not, however, a curative or palliative treatment for individuals with herpes.
