Can someone with oral herpes give their partner genital herpes through oral sex? |
I believe that my ex-husband cheated on me although he will never admit it. Also, is it possible that Icould have been misdiagnosed with genital herpes, if I haven't had an outbreak since the supposed first one over 9 years ago? If so, what else could it have been? There are many strains of HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus). Most often HSV-1 is oral and occurs around the mouth. HSV-2 in genital. Both can be spread to other parts of the body. Usually HSV-1 is much milder. HSV-2 doesn't thrive in other parts of the body, but it can. HSV can lay inactive for years before a primary outbreak. Some people never have a noticible outbreak. They claim 70% of the people who have it got it from partners that had no symptoms. A blood test can tell if you have the anti-bodies that indicate whether you have herpes or not. Talk to you doctor as well. I've listed a few resources. Source(s): Check out fact sheets on cdc.gov, http://www.valleyhelpgroup.com/,... and gotherpes.com okay herpes is herpes there is no cure only treatment to keep out breaks away. So just because u havent had an out break in over 9 years doesnt mean its gone u still have it Nurse YES. When someone has HSV-1 oral and they expose your genitals to it, it will turn into HSV-2 genital. But there has to be a sore on their mouth. Having the blisters on your genitals is very painful and you do get outbreaks all the time if not on medication. There is no cure for it. Also males infected usually show no signs and are carriers and pass it on same with HPV, then when they pass this to us it can cause us to get cancer. Men are silent but deadly aren't they! "Sorry" Nurse 11yrs For the longest time, everyone used to say no. Now, they are taking it all back and saying yes, in fact you can give someone genital herpes if you have a fever blister. I did know a lady that had herpes, where she had one outbreak, and that was it. It went away. Doesn't seem possible, but she said it did. Weird, huh? |
