How long does genital herpes heal? |
I recently had my first outbreak, the first onset being around 4 months ago. I had a few blisters that just healed and went away. One blister I had scabbed over, was about the size of a pinhead, but while the scab itself is gone, doesn't look like it's completely healed over. Will this leave a scar, or eventually go away? I only ask because it's been about 3 full weeks since the scab has not been present. It has me down a bit since it's on the tip of my penis and obviously for cosmetic reasons bothers me. They will leave some scarring, but it will fade with time. My boyfriend had his first breakout about 5 months ago and it was BAD. He had a cluster of lesions about the size of a quarter on the side of his penis. It took about 4 weeks to heal completely and about another 2 or 3 months for the scar to fade, but unless you know right where to look, you can barely see it. Please be careful. It sucks to find out you have herpes, but it sucks even worse when you have found out that you have unknowingly given them to someone else. Trust me. Since you know, you have a responsibility to protect your partner. Be smart and good luck! It is proably a scar but since it is so small no one will really notice it. Plus since you have Herpes you must always use a condom when having sex or if you get oral sex. Please protect yourself and your partner. herpes lesions can definitely leave scars..but often they just leave a discoloration that may last for months and eventually fade |
