Can you get genital herpes from oral sex? |
What are the chances of contracting herpes simplex virus 2 from have oral sex with no condom? You are actually asking two different questions. Yes, it is possible to get genital herpes from oral sex, but it's very unlikely to have it caused by herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV2). If a person has contacted genital herpes from oral sex it is usually caused by herpes simplex virus 1 (which is typically cold sores). If a person has cold sores and gives another person oral sex, that person can develop genital herpes. I personally have had genital herpes for 6 years now. My genital herpes is caused by herpes simplex virus 1, not 2. Typically genital herpes is caused by HSV2, but if you have a cold sore to genital transmission it's usually caused by HSV1. I hope that answered your question! Source(s): Personal experience. YES! You can get it in you blood stream if you have any openings in you mouth like cuts, even the tinny ones or cavities. Virus will fight for their life and they will do what ever even to resist changes on temperatures or acidity. Once is i you blood you will get the signal and symptoms "down there". Having this virus which is not a big deal if we compare it with HIV will predespose you to get HIV if you get in contact with it. Another type of herpes is oro-pharygeal (mouth-throat) Herpes, that show manisfestation on your lips, mouth and Throat. If you want to know more check this 2 web pages. Hope it helps. Good luck! http://www.biogetica.com/oral-herpes.htm... http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/stdfact-he... I wouldn't chance it. Not worth having canchre sores on your genitals! If he has a cold sore and goes down on you, you could get it. CHANCES ARE 100% PLEASE PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES |
