| *Women health>>>Genital Herpes |
Friend of mine has Genital Herpes and she is pregnant, will it cause a problem when she delivers? |
She says it won't. But I was thinking if it can be passed from the area to others, can't it still be passed to a newborn? She should discuss this with her physician prior to delivery..unless she has a recent outbreak or active lesions at the time of delivery, many drs will let the woman go ahead and deliver vaginally, or if a woman insists, she can opt for a c-section. Source(s): My mom is a labor and delivery R.N. I think so to Yes it can You should contact a local midwife. (Look in the phonebook). They are usually wise and knowledgeable about STD's and of course, the Birthing process too! she should talk to her ob... from my understanding she may have to have a c-section, because there is that chance of passing it to the baby! Only if they are present and/or in outbreak. Many Ob/gyn's do a C section to reduce transfer to the newborn. |
