If a woman has genital herpes can she infect her partner through performing oral sex on him? Only if she has it in or on her mouth, if you are talking about o r a l S e x. She can effect her partner in ANY WAY if she has a infection! Yes. You can only pass it on with contact of the infected body part it will be very unlikely that you have them in your mouth, but do yourself a favor & always have the man wear a condom, that not only prevents you spreading your herpes to him or any other partner but from getting any other std's. There are many sites for info on herpes,if you can't afford a Dr, if you can go see a female Dr you will feel more comfortable with another woman,let her exaime you & give you the advice that best fits for you.
