Can my girlfriend get genital herpes from being eatin out, if I have a coldsore?


I get cold sores when I get really stressed out. I am bisexual and when my girl friend and I were being intimate I decieded to eat her out. Both of us totally forgot that I had a cold sore. It was almost healed up and was not pussing or bleeding. I ate her out for a few minutes then remembered I had a cold sore. I stopped right then. I want to know if she can get herpes "down there?" How do we go and get tested? I have insurance but she doesn't! I need help please!!!!!

Yes she can get genital herpes from your cold sore.

Genital herpes is usually caused by herpes simplex virus 2, but it can also be caused by herpes simplex virus 1, which is typically cold sores.

I personally have genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus 1. People with genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus 1 tend to have less outbreaks compared to someone who has genital herpes caused by HSV2. They also experience less painful outbreaks.

I'm not sure how much herpes tests are without insurance. I've (luckily) always had insurance. You can always go to a Planned Parenthood or other STD clinic and get tested. Yes. Tests are rarely performed because they are almost pointless. They can cross react so determining which virus you have can be difficult. Most human beings on earth will have antibodies to 1 or more (usually a few) of the 8 herpes viruses by age 50 anyway. If she developes symptoms in the future, there are ways to cope with the situation. Theres no reason to burden her nor yourself with the anxiety as its far worse than the prognosis of herpes.
It can transfer that way. Talk to a clinic about free testing, check the incubation period.
