What to look for in genital herpes? |
I have red spots on my penis. Its flaky, like dry skin. They dont hurt, it doesnt itch. It doesnt affect me in any way. What could it be? it could be warts, which need to be frozen off. herpes generally occurs around 22 days after you're exposed, though it can be dormant for a time; also perhaps you had an outbreak in an area not as readily viewable as the penis before this more "obvious" one (between skin folds or on the testes). regardless, you should check it out with a doctor, cuz during an outbreak, especially the early part of one, you're very contagious. If for some reason you don't see a doc, (but you should!) notice if after the flakes go away, the red spots stay. This is called scarring, but doesn't last forever. This is a trait of herpes. Another thing, if you feel a tingling sensation in the area before you have spots, flakes, or blisters/bumps, this also indicates herpes. Good luck and see a doctor. herpes can be mostly suppressd with easy medication. Also the first outbreak is usually the worst, so if this turns out to be herpes, it's probably very minor based on the desciption you gave. Source(s): personal experience for 15 years! to be safe go and get it looked at by a doctor. you dont want to pass it to anyone. |
