cold sores are a form of herpes, so yes it can happen.
FROM WHAT IVE HEARD YEAH IT CAN CAUSE GENITAL HERPES SO ITS DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD IDEA PLUS WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT SOMEONE WITH AN OPEN SORE TO PREFORM ORAL S*X ON THEM EWWW
Yes, cold sores are Herpes and highly contagious. You must avoid touching anything with the infected area. Don't kiss anyone, don't share your drinking glass or bottle and specially don't perform oral sex. If you touch it with your hands, wash them immediately.
Helpful hint: before you get the cold sore you start to feel hot on the infected area or a little tingling, grab an ice cube and wrap it with a paper towel, then apply it to the area for a few minutes (5-10). It won't appear!
