well really sounds like a pimple. herpes are open ulcers on the skin and only live on certain nerves (thats why they come back) and are limited to certain area of the body. have him see a doctor when they appear it may be allergic or it could just be something real simple. and if you are real worried go with him you have a right to know.
It can be swollen lymphs. Get him tested for herpes but it could be a wide range of conditions. How big are the bumps?. Always use protection just in case. Some herpes patients do not show any symptoms. You should also get tested. I hope it isnt herpes but go to the doctor.
