I think it, I guess you'd say lives in the nerve cells so it's possible that more or less of those cells are infected. It's probably best to ask a doctor about your particular case. It's all the same. The actual virus is the same in anyone who has herpes. However some people do have milder symptoms than others. Some have no symptoms at all & don't even know they carry the virus.
