What are important facts to kow about genital herpes?

i have an assignment in class and i want mine to be the best!!!!!!! what can u tell me

Instead of listing all the facts for you, I will provide the websites where you can find them. The first one is really the best since it is from the CDC (Center for Disease Control). The second one will list the facts for you in question and answer form.
http://www.cdc.gov/std/herpes/stdfact-he...
http://www.ahmf.com.au/genital_herpes/es...
http://www.ihmf.org/general/resources03....
http://www.herpes.com/genitalinfo.shtml...
http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/stdh...

You will find all of these very helpful. Good luck on your paper! Source(s): I'm an R.N.
1. It is easily passed from one person to the next through sexual contact.
2. It can be passed orally to genitally when one person has a cold sore on their mouth.
3. You can pass it on to someone else even if you don't have symptoms yet. (the cells "shed" and can be passed on during this time)
4. Having a baby when you have an outbreak of herpes is extremely damgerous to the baby. They almost always do a caesarean section if the mother has an active herpes outbreak. It can cause damage to the newborn's vital organs and the central nervous system. If the newborn does become infected, it can be fatal.
