How long does it take for genital herpes to cure? |
It is the first time I have it. You need to get on the internet search engine and punch in keywords, "genitile herpes" and you will learn a great deal. Herpes is forever, they don't cure. There is not a cure, and they are contagious, especially when they are at a full blown stage. They settle down, but blast back to full blown without notice. I think they have a type of pill now, its not a cure but helps you so they don't control your life and you should call and speak to a doctor about this. Again, you will transmit it to others, sexually, and its just not a cool thing..............you need to use protection and you need to tell others you are with that you have it.................Please get onto the internet and read up on it and see a doctor.................. Herpes = FOREVER There is no cure. There is a pill, but that only delays it. It never goes away. there is NO cure for herpes! Unfortunately Herpes is a lifelong disease. It can be treated with various anti virals but cannot be cured. you may want to speak to your doctor about dealing with it when it reccurs or to a counsellor and helping you deal with the side effects and preventing infecting your partners. You have the virus for life. Outbreaks may be controlled with medication, but you are able to spread the virus to a partner so always use a barrier and be sure you tell them before things lead to sex. You probably got it from a person that did not know they had it or did not care to inform you. There is no cure. Herpes lives within nerve fibers indefinitely and occasionally causes skin blisters and ulcers often during times of stress. Antivirals when taken within the first 1-2 days of the outbreak reduce the duration of symptoms by approx 1 day (say, from 7 days without treatment to 5 or 6 with). If you have frequent outbreaks you can discuss chronic suppressive therapy with your doctor. Herpes at this time is incurable. You have it for the rest of your life. I think what you meant to ask was how long will the outbreaks last. This page has a pretty general description of how long outbreaks will last. http://www.herpes.com/symptoms.shtml... According to this same site you'll experiene an average of 4 of these a year. Apparently it can be triggered so depending on your lifestyle you can see more or less outbreaks. What you need to do in my opinion is to join a herpes support group. These people will have first hand experience and help you through the major transformation of your life that you are about to experience. If you are young, you may see a cure in your lifetime. Wish you well. |
